Meet Julia

Hello and welcome!

I am an artist and pattern designer from Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom.

I love to paint and draw and have done from an early age. I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by beautiful gardens and wonderful countryside, in which I would roam at any opportunity, on foot, bike or on horseback. This love of nature has entwined itself into my work and continues to provided me with constant inspiration.

After school, I enjoyed a career in art education, teaching all ages from infants to adults. I often wish I had discovered pattern design earlier, but when I look back, I realise that the experience and breadth of knowledge that I gained through years of teaching, has shaped the artist that I am now.

I really hope you enjoy my work, please contact me if you have any questions or would like to enquire about licencing or collaboration, I would be delighted to hear from you. In the meantime you will probably find me in the garden or in the studio, with my little dog Fifi by my side.

Although relatively new to surface design, I am really excited that my patterns are already starting to gain attention. I have completed several courses with the wonderful Make it in Design - a global online design school, including their Ultimate Portfolio Builder at the end of 2019. Through Make it in Design, my work was selected to be exhibited at Adobe Max in Los Angeles and several of my designs have won awards during their Summer and Winter School events. Most recently I was voted to be the winner in a competition to find the next designer for Wallsauce, resulting in some of my designs being licenced as wallpaper murals. I have also just launched my first fabric collection with Dandelion Fabric and Co in the United States and have another ready to release in the spring. So many exciting things to look forward to….
